Sept 28: Free museums
On Saturday, Sept. 28, wander the halls of a new-to-you exhibit at no cost. More than 1400 museums across the country will waive admission for the ninth annual Museum Day Live!, hosted by Smithsonian Magazine. Spend the day in the sunshine at a botanical garden, get lost a premier art gallery or learn about local history at a cultural institution.
The Museum Day Live! ticket is available to download. Tickets are limited to one per household -- good for two people -- and must be presented upon entry for free admission.
Some of the most popular museums participating in the event include:
•Los Angeles area: GRAMMY Museum, Santa Monica Museum of Art
•San Francisco area: de Young, Bay Area Discovery Museum
•Chicago: Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago
